Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) Reliability Training
The Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) is used to assess implementation of Pyramid Model practices in preschool classrooms.
This training prepares early childhood coaches and program teams to observe, score, and use TPOT data to strengthen classroom practices and guide professional learning.
Rhonda McClure is an NCPMI-approved TPOT Reliability Trainer authorized to deliver official TPOT reliability training using approved NCPMI materials and procedures.
This training is designed for:

Preschool classroom coaches

Early childhood behavior or social-emotional coaches

Consultants supporting Pyramid Model implementation

Program leaders supporting classroom quality
Participants must:

Have completed a minimum of 15 hours of Preschool Pyramid Model practices training

Have completed Practice-Based Coaching training
-
Be actively supporting teachers implementing the Pyramid Model practices
Participants will learn:

Administration procedures and scoring criteria for all TPOT items

How to score key practice, red flag, and response to challenging behavior item
-
How to complete a standardized reliability check-out
-
How to use TPOT data to guide coaching and professional learning
Reliability Certification:
Participants complete a standardized TPOT reliability check-out process using official TPOT procedures and materials. Upon successful completion, reliability status is recorded through NCPMI and is valid for three years. Reliable TPOT Observers must re-establish reliability after three years to maintain status.
