Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) Reliability Training
The Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) measures implementation fidelity of Preschool Pyramid Model practices in early childhood classrooms. This reliability training prepares classroom coaches to administer and score the TPOT accurately to guide coaching and professional development.
This training is designed for:

Preschool classroom coaches

Early childhood behavior or social-emotional coaches

Consultants supporting Pyramid Model implementation
Participants must:

Have completed a minimum of 15 hours of Preschool Pyramid Model practices training

Have completed Practice-Based Coaching training
-
Be actively supporting teachers implementing the Pyramid Model
Participants will:

Review all TPOT items, administration procedures, and scoring criteria

Practice scoring key practice, red flag, and response to challenging behavior items
-
Complete a reliability check-out using a standardized video
-
Learn to graph and interpret TPOT data to guide coaching goals
Reliability Certification
Participants complete a standardized TPOT reliability check-out process using official TPOT procedures and materials. Upon successful completion, reliability status is recorded through NCPMI and is valid for three years. Reliable TPOT Observers must re-establish reliability after three years to maintain status.
